In this message, Leon and Naomi share how God’s design for marriage starts in Genesis 2:24 with three commands: leave, cleave, and become one flesh.
“Leave” means cutting emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual ties with your parents. The cord must be cut for both the couple and the parents.
“Cleave” describes a permanent joining, like two pieces of wood glued together, where the process of cementing happens throughout the marriage and requires making each other a new priority.
“One flesh” encompasses the sexual union designed for procreation, satisfaction, and pleasure.
Marriage marks the beginning of a new allegiance and priority order. The sermon frames marriage as a covenant central to God’s kingdom design, one that the sexual revolution and modern culture are actively working to redefine.
