In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul writes to a church divided over spiritual gifts. Merv Charles explained that the Holy Spirit gives each believer gifts (wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, tongues, and others) not for personal glory but for the good of the whole body and the spiritual battle we all face.

No one needs every gift, and love and gifts are not in competition. We need both. The simple takeaway: pursue love, desire spiritual gifts, and express the heart of God.
