We are lost when we are not WITH our Father. When we take our eyes off of Him, we lose our way, and find ourselves following other paths that lead to death. The Parable of the Lost Son, shows us two sons who were lost – one in the pursuit of pleasure, the other in pursuit of self-righteousness. It also shows us the deep joy of the Father when one of them comes home to be WITH Him.
