Drawing from the archives of Masonville Mennonite Church (the congregation&#8217;s roots dating to 1760), early missionary letters, and a prison letter from Anabaptist founder Michael Sattler written on the eve of his execution, he identifies three themes that have sustained the Mennonite story across centuries: faithfulness to Christ, obedience to His teachings, and compassion for neighbors.
